Overview

The news and research updates section presents new findings, and discusses some of the ongoing research of dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related conditions.



Bi-Monthly report

The monthly report will address either new research findings related to dyspepsia, GERD or other disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract (Barrett's esophagus, Gallstones, pancreatitis, etc.), or will provide a more indepth discussion of an important issue and some of the findings related to that issue.

Current clinical trials

The following are a list of clinical trials (testing of new treatments) pertaining to upper gastrointestinal disorders, that are currently running within McMaster University's Division of Gastroenterology. Feel free to contact the study's research nurse for additional information regarding eligibility requirements and participation.


Heartburn Study (Adult)

If you;

1) have experienced moderate heartburn at least 3 times per week for more than 3 months

2) live in the Hamilton, Ontario catchment area (driving distance)

3) would like to participate in a study looking at the effects of a new drug on the symptoms of heartburn
